Why the Trump administration should not be surprised by Trump’s Twitter outburst
The Trump administration is now considering the possibility of banning all Twitter accounts belonging to the President, including those belonging to former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon, a report in Politico on Tuesday revealed.
The decision would effectively eliminate Bannon from the administration.
The ban is reportedly being weighed by the administration and could be announced as early as next week.
The news comes on the heels of the President’s Twitter tirade on Tuesday night, where he accused Bannon of “being a racist” and “having ties to Russia.”
“He is an embarrassment to the office,” Trump told a gathering of supporters.
“He doesn’t have a clue what’s going on.
He doesn’t understand what’s happening.
He is a racist, and he has ties to Putin.”
The White House later confirmed the President was considering the proposal, with spokesperson Hope Hicks telling reporters that Bannon is a “white supremacist.”
“I would not comment on whether that is a topic that the president is considering or not,” Hicks added.
